Last weekend was full of great memories with friends. This past week has been all about finding our groove after a mini getaway, working, spending time with each other, cooking meals, and finding time to relax. From spending time with friends to playing in the snow to remaining on the quest to find a good work-life balance, this week has been full of some of my favorite things.
10 Favorite Things
1.) Our son has started to address me. So, instead of having someone point at me and ask him, “Who’s that?” to which he responds, “Mama.” He is now saying “Mama” to get my attention … as in, to actually address me and talk to me. Wow. It took me by surprise the first time it happened this week. My husband and I glanced at each other like, “What the heck?” Our son has been saying “Mama” all week to get my attention, hand me cups, have me shoot hoops … I could not be happier.
2.) We had a mini getaway this past weekend to see really great friends. It was so nice seeing them and getting to know their cute, little girl. Having weekend-long playdates with friends and their kids is always such a great time.
3.) Our son’s teacher told us that our son is ready to use the potty. So, the adventure begins next week. If you have any advice for a two-year-old learning to use the potty, please feel free to share.
4.) I love a good small business. So, in an effort to help spread the word about their awesomeness (yes, that’s a word … at least in my vocabulary), I’m starting a new section on my site. Do you own a small business, work for a small business, or know someone who owns a small business? Be sure to check out the details and get on the list for a small business feature.
5.) I’m a bit picky when it comes to light fixtures in our home. We’re in the process of switching out our light fixtures week by week as we make new purchases. We purchased a few light fixtures the other day. I cannot wait to get them installed in our home.
6.) How yummy does this Chocolate and Caramel Swiss Roll look? Oh. My. Yum.
7.) Who else is a fan of neutral clothing? I’m loving this look.
8.) My husband made my son and I pancakes today. Such a great way to start the day (that and a lot of coffee). Have you ever tried banana pancakes?
9.) My husband and I have been talking about ways to increase our travel. Talking about travel has me all sorts of excited. What’s on your bucket list? I would love to go here.
10.) We’re looking forward to a weekend full of fun times, family, and celebration … all things that I love. What are your weekend plans?
