The quote in the photograph above could not be more perfect for the week this past week. Why? I took a giant leap, educated myself a ton, learned a lot, experienced patience, embraced fear, and welcomed courage. I learned, I grew, and I conquered.

10 Favorite Things

1.) You guys. I migrated from Blogger to WordPress. By. Myself. Yes, you read that correctly. I’ve been wanting to make the change for quite some time and then it hit me a few days ago. I had to make the change. After loads of researching, reviewing templates, uploading, saving, backtracking, discovering, learning, designing, upgrading, revising, updating, and pretty much everything else that ends in an “-ing,” I can finally announce that the migration is complete. Now I know why they call it “migrating,” especially since I feel like a bird that has flown across the country. What a task. I hope you like the new design. Please let me know what you think in the comments. Also, if I’m missing anything, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

2.) Hudson started his second week of swim class. What a fish he is. The first few days this week were a bit rocky. But, today? Oh man. Today was the best day yet. He jumped, splashed, smiled, did the hokey pokey and clapped, laughed, kicked, and had fun just about every second of the 3o minute class. Tomorrow is our last day at class and I’m kind of bumming that it’s over. Is it too early to sign him up for another class?

3.) We broke ground on our fire pit area. After brainstorming design ideas, my husband and I went to the store and started buying supplies. He’s been hard at work this week outlining and clearing out the area.

4.) It’s almost the holiday weekend. Who doesn’t love the Fourth of July? The boat, water, grill, and good times have my name all over them.

5.) Two words: Matt Bellassai. Have you seen this guy? I mean, seriously. I may or may not laugh until I cry when I watch him. Wine and reality. What’s not to love? Watch his Whine Wednesdays. You won’t regret it.

6.) The artwork pictured above. Why? Because it perfectly sums up the week that I’ve had so far. Plus, it speaks true to my son enjoying his swim class. He is one courageous kid. Check out more designs like that one at House of Belonging.

7.) Grilling. When my husband and I eat dinner together, we grill just about every time we cook (which is all the time). Listening to music, cooking great food, and enjoying cocktails? That right there is the definition of a perfect summer night. For grilling recipes, be sure to check out this post.

8.) Love the smell of lavender and vanilla? If so, then do yourself a favor and pick up the Lavender Vanilla Pure & Natural soy candles by Chesapeake Bay. I bought two of them today and I’m kind of obsessed with them.

9.) My husband and I have been eating salads for just about every lunch over the past week or so. I cannot get enough of the leafy green goodness. Here are five simple salad recipes that you will love this summer.

10.) It’s July. Yes, we have lots on the calendar for July and I’m looking forward to a month full of making unforgettable memories with family and friends.

What is your favorite thing from the past week?
