Children’s Playroom Design Ideas

Today’s task? Head to the local home improvement store and buy wood to build a play tent. This week, my husband and I were talking about the front room in our new home. When we moved into the house, we basically transplanted our living room setup in our old home and dropped it into our new home. Since then, we really haven’t spent a lot of time in the room.

The dogs, on the other hand, love the room. Our son also loves to spend as much time in there as possible (even if he is just harrassing the dogs). After careful planning and thinking, I asked my husband, “What if we moved the couches in the front room to the basement and changed the front room to a playroom?”

After about two seconds, my husband was completely on board with the whole idea. So, needless to say, I’ve been researching playrooms constantly as I try to piece together a room that our son will love.

What’s the one must-have for me? I really want him to have a play tent. I would love to cuddle up with him in the tent and read his favorite books. Instead of buying an expensive play tent, I figured out how to make a no-sew play tent in under an hour or so. Thank you, Pinterest tutorials. What would we do without Pinterest?
Here are some of the playrooms that are inspiring me for my son’s playroom:
