How Do You Wind Down at Night?

All day long I’m go go go. My mind is running a mile a minute, I can hardly sit still, I’m trying to accomplish a bajillion things while crossing off as many to dos as possible, and I work on trying to divvy up my time. Who’s with me? Yeah, we’re all in the same boat. We’re all busy. Everyone is busy, right?!

So, here’s today’s random thought:

How do you wind down at night?

For me, because I’m trying to juggle and keep a lot of balls in the air all day long, I enjoy a quiet home at night. With a toddler on the verge of terrible 2s (hopefully we don’t encounter the terrible part … but, one can hope, right?) and a demanding job, here are some of the ways that I love to wind down at night:

  • Enjoy dinner with my family
  • Cuddle with my husband
  • Take a deep breath
  • Settle down in the peace and quiet
  • Spend time writing, specifically on this site
  • Watch television
  • Sneak my dogs onto the couch when I’m up alone at night
  • Peruse the chocolate stash and nibble on a few pieces
  • Drink a glass of milk … is that odd?
  • Enjoy wine occasionally

So far tonight, I’ve done all of the above except for the last bullet. So, I guess I’m on track to being relaxed prior to my head hitting the pillow. On that note … time to shut it down and catch some zzzs …
