Starting a New Chapter

You might have noticed a slight … alright, maybe a drastic change … in my site. You might have also noticed that my blog posts have been a slow go lately. Why is that? I felt as though I was missing something on my site. I felt as though I wasn’t embracing my full creative side. I felt as though this creative space of mine needed a tweak.

My days are full of waking up before the sun, cutting up fruit, singing songs, playing with puzzles, chasing after a one-year-old, trying to find time to nourish myself, and performing the roles of a stay-at-home mom and full-time work-at-home employee simultaneously all while trying to be the best wife, mother, friend, and family member that I can possibly be. Oh, and trying to find time for my blog as well. The busier the better, right?

Motherhood is tough. Motherhood is rewarding. Motherhood is amazing.

Food blogging is tough. Food blogging is rewarding. Food blogging is amazing.

However, over the past few months, I have felt as though something has been missing here. Even though photography is one of my true passions, I also love spending time with family and friends, cleaning (call me crazy) and decorating my home, cooking food … yes, I have a lot of passions and interests. And that’s when I got to the bottom of it.

I needed some expansion. I needed some breathing room. I needed some flexibility. For years, I kept saying, “I will only ever be a food blogging.” Why? Because I was passionate about it (and I still am). However, my life has changed so much over the past year and I feel as though keeping my site as just a food blog has stifled my creativity and ability to share more with you.

So, welcome to my (sort of) fresh start.

What will you see from here on out? Don’t worry. I’m still all about simplifying. But, instead of staying in the kitchen, I’m expanding to life. Yes, go big or go home.

I added a few more sections such as family, house, and photography. I have so many ideas, tips, stories, and recipes floating around in my head. I can’t wait to get them written down and shared with you.

I look forward to starting this new chapter with you. Thank you for being an awesome and supportive pal throughout this journey.

  1. I totally know how you feel and have been towing this line trying to decide what to do for awhile. It takes a lot of courage – kudos for having it! I can't wait to see your whole self in your site now. That makes me happy :)

    • Thank you so much, Kristen. I've had a feeling that something needed to change but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. When I took a step back and analyzed what I was doing on this space, I realized that I wasn't embracing everything that makes me happy. Now that I have made the transition, I can't even begin to tell you how much happier I have been. I feel like I can breathe easier as I expand and truly share all that I want without restrictions. I appreciate your support throughout the years!
