As you can probably gather from some of my stories and trips, I love my wine. Red, white, fruity, dry, cold, warm…you name it, I will more than likely enjoy it. I believe I received my mom’s wine loving gene because she loves wine probably more than I do. It’s hard to believe that is even possible.
Thankfully, my husband enjoys wine so the nights when we open up a bottle and cook together happen to be some of our best date nights. My favorite part of the day is when step away from work, open up a bottle of wine, take it out to the back deck, turn on the string of lights, play music, and sit back and relax as we chat about our day and enjoy all of the flavors that emanate from the wine in our glasses.
As we start entering into the hot and humid D.C. summer, I love to experiment with wines by opting for fruity and refreshing wines that offer a little break from the weather. That’s why when Gallo Family Vineyards announced their first annual National Moscato Day, I immediately jumped on that train to refreshing and fruity flavor town.
Brothers Ernest and Julio Gallo founded Gallo Family Vineyards in 1933 with the idea of creating high quality wine at an affordable price. To this day, Gallo Family Vineyards are proud producers of flavorful wines that celebrate the spirit of hardworking American families. They craft approachable fruit forward wines that complement life’s everyday moments. They also work with a wide range of flavors ready to be paired with all types of food and appropriate for any occasion, be it on the back porch or during a neighborhood get together.
Did you know that America’s excitement for Moscato is increasing at an unprecedented rate, making it the fastest growing varietal in the U.S.? Well, now you do. It’s all very exciting, isn’t it? The Moscato wine produced by Gallo Family Vineyards is bursting with flavors of peach, honey, and ripe citrus — in other words, it’s the perfect wine to enjoy on a hot and humid summer day. This wine pairs wonderfully with soft cheese like Brie or Pecorino Romano. Or, try pairing it with your favorite fiery dish. Their Moscato has a sweetness that balances bold, spicy foods.
The next time you’re at the grocery or wine store, pick up a bottle of their Moscato wine for just $5.00 a bottle…you won’t be disappointed. In fact, why not pick up a bottle tonight? You can enjoy it while you join the Mom It Forward #gno Twitter party tonight (Wednesday, May 9) from 9-10 p.m. ET as we celebrate National #MoscatoDay with @GalloFamily! To learn more about the party, please be sure to click here. To enter for a chance to win a $250 wine-themed gift basket, please be sure to click here. Also, during the party, you’ll have a chance to wine a $100 gift basket!

Disclaimer: Gallo Family Vineyards sent me two bottles of wine to review for this post. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign. However, all thoughts are my own.
