5 Simple Bathroom Cleaning Tips

1. Remove and Keep Water Stains Away

Plumbing fixtures and bathroom acquire water stains if it uses a hard water supply. These stains aren’t harmful to your bathroom but it does make the room look unclean. Fortunately, you don’t have to use expensive or chemical-based cleaners to remove hard water stains.

Use lemons to get rid of the unsightly stains. You have the option to rub the fresh lemon directly or pour the fruit’s extracts on the affected area. Either way, the stains will be gone and you have lemon scent filling up your bathroom. Installing a water softener can reduce the mineral content of your water — and reduce the occurrence of these stains.

2. Take Out Mold and Mildew

Mold and mildew naturally grows in the bathroom due to the plentiful moisture. You don’t need to use harsh chemical solutions to kill these fungi. All you need is a common household item which is baking soda and a few materials. Here are the items you need:

  • Baking Soda
  • Spray Bottle
  • Water
  • Brush

Instructions

  1. Fill the spray bottle with water
  2. Put a quarter of tablespoon with baking soda
  3. Pour the baking soda into the spray bottle
  4. Shake and mix well. You’re now ready to spray the baking soda solution and wipe out those fungi from the face of the Earth. Be sure to scrub vigorously.
  5. Spray twice for tougher mold and mildew.

In order to stop mold and mildew from growing in your bathroom; you need to lower the moisture as much as possible. You can achieve this by opening the bathroom’s windows and doors. This will allow air to circulate and evaporate water deposits scattered throughout the room. Other options include installing an exhaust fan and placing a dehumidifier.

3. Keep Mirrors Crystal Clear

When wiping mirrors, you may have noticed streaks being leftover. Try using a microfiber cloth poured with a mixture of water and vinegar. This will definitely keep the mirrors clear and free from streaks!

4. Improvise Toilet Cleaning

You don’t need to use costly cleaning products to remove stains and scum in your toilet bowl. Get a mouthwash and pour ¼ cup in the bowl. Wait for 30 minutes and start scrubbing with a high quality toilet brush. Flush after you’re done.

Your favorite cola can also be used for taking out toilet bowl scum. You need to empty all the cola content of the can into the bowl. Wait for around 30-60 minutes and then scrub and flush.

5. Clean the Floor

Before you start using a mop; we suggest you vacuum the floor. It would also help if the floor is dry when you start cleaning. A top notch vacuum machine will absorb dust and hair easily. This method of pre-clean-up will prevent dust and hair from sticking on your mop.
